Original collage artwork, derived from antique sheet music covers, alongside an array of antique papers from the 18th and 19th centuries, including remnants of hand-written documentation.

The paper patchwork showcases past manufacturing techniques, including the fine mesh of rag paper, made from cotton and linen fibres; the distinct parallel lines and subtle ribbed texture of laid paper; and elegantly inked calligraphy on vellum.

The patchwork shows decades of ageing that will continue to emerge over decades to come. Acid damage produces browning in some. In others a characteristric yellow-brown sepia is evident. Applied to acid-free art board and presented in an antique, brown wooden frame that also shows age indicators of its advancing years.

Professionally framed, including glass glazing, strung and ready to hang.
