Old Paper Tiles Number 3

Original collage artwork, derived from fragments of an antique sheet music covers, alongside an array of handmade writing and drawing papers, some also antique.

The crude application of the paper results in a coarsely textural composition. The faded lettering and imagery in the broken blue band provides a subtle focal point.

The tiles are selected for their developing deterioration; they age at varying paces, some carrying the characterful grime and discolouration that the years have bestowed on them. The patchwork shows decades of change that grants the piece its distinctively textural qualities.  It will continue to mature over decades to come.

Applied to acid-free art board and presented in a vintage gold frame that also shows age indicators of its advancing years.

Professionally framed, including glass glazing, strung and ready to hang.
